Pickling and passivation of stainless steel
At Anodizados Oliva, we offer chemical treatments that improve the properties of stainless steel and guarantee clean, uniform and resistant surfaces.
Pickling and passivation
They remove impurities, contamination and stains (including those caused by welding), resulting in a uniform, passivated surface with anti-corrosion protection in matt or satin finishes.
The most common types of stainless steel we work with are AISI 304 and 316, widely used in industrial applications.
Process characteristics
Cleaning
Completely aseptic surfaces are obtained. Pickling and passivation leave the material free of impurities. It is often combined with prior mechanical polishing and subsequent electropolishing.
Appearance
Enhances the finish of any stainless steel part, achieving uniform, nuanced, clean and aseptic surfaces.
Corrosion protection
The resulting chemical passivation significantly increases the corrosion resistance of stainless steel.
Benefits of pickling and passivation
Pickling and passivation offer a chemical treatment that significantly improves stainless steel, providing deep cleaning and long-lasting protection. Its main benefits include:
- Removal of impurities and stains.
- Clean, uniform and sterile surfaces.
- Improves resistance to corrosion.
- Matte finishes.
- Application on complex parts with different geometries, as the part is completely submerged.
